On April 11th, the “Startup and Construction Program and Academic Seminar of National Engineering Laboratory for Multi Flue Gas Pollutant Control Technology and Equipment” was held in the reception hall of Tsinghua University. CNBMEP participated in the meeting and was elected as the director of the national engineering laboratory, and President of the CNBMEP, Zhang zhigang, was elected as the director.

The National Engineering Laboratory for Controlling Technology and Equipment for Flue Gas Multi-Contamination Control was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in October 2016 and organized by the Ministry of Education. It was jointly established by Tsinghua University and domestic leading scientific research units and leading enterprises in various industries. The laboratory was led by Hao Jiming and He Kebin, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Li Junhua, the Yangtze River scholar Professor and a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, was the director of the laboratory. The seminar mainly discussed the development of multi-pollutant control technology for flue gas, and grasped the future direction of the national engineering laboratory for multi flue gas pollutant control technology and equipment.

CNBMEP successfully completed the first flue gas wet desulfurization, flue gas denitrification (SCR), high temperature (400 °C) flue gas electric dust collection, flue gas rotary spray semi-dry desulfurization, high temperature flue gas dry desulfurization, and the first Foreign environmental protection general contracting project. The performance of environmental protection projects has exceeded 100 items, and the overall technical level is internationally advanced. CNBMEP will make due contributions to the construction of national engineering laboratories and the control of atmospheric pollutants.

Academician Xue Qikun, Vice President of Tsinghua University, Academician He Kebin, Dean of Environmental College of Tsinghua University, and Professor Li Junhua, the Yangtze River scholar Professor, and other leaders of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology and relevant enterprises attended the meeting.
